- thinner glass easier to work with
- e.g. glass for wood picture frames
- once found thinner in a photo frame from a 100 yen shop
- now most are plastic
- uses edge of a thin file
- width about 4–5 cm
- scratch the edge
- hangs over head of french hammer
- presses down with thumb
- small curved pieces
- for straight breaks, press just with thumb
- for more curve, place right index finger under, press on top with thumb
- some directions easier to break straight
- break into pieces for storage
- handedness of working edge, depending on how it’s broken
