Organization
Seams are divided into classes and types. Classes are coded with two uppercase letters. Types are coded with one or more lowercase letters after. Digit suffixes often denote the number of rows of stitches. So LSa-1 is a type “a” lapped seam with one row of stitching, while LSa-2 is a type “a” lapped seam with two rows.
