“Munson last” is used to describe any number of shoe lasts derived from or inspired by those produced under Edward Lyman Munson for United States military boots shortly before World War I and used to manufacture combat boots of the era.
Munson lasts are characterized by short heels and roomy toe boxes that echo the outer contours of the toes of the foot.
