Notes
- polyurethane dispersion adhesive
- comparable to Syntic-TOTAL
- great for shoe plastics
- e.g. TPR
- can be combined with Rehagol
- bonds polyurethane, vinyl, PVC, rubber, leather
- versus Syntic-TOTAL:
- built-in heat-reactive cross-linker
- don’t need to mix in generally
- activates at about 80°C
- if you can’t reach that temperature, mix in Crosslinker A-100
- don’t use Hardener C, as reacts with water
- use like a contact cement
- adhesive layer becomes completely clear when cured
- but does not become tacky
- good for storing parts long-term, e.g. pre-coating soles and heels
- clean, dry, dust-free environment
- can keep for several months
- reactivate and bond
- can be stacked, since not tacky
- put together cold, parts won’t tack
- reactivate with heat to make tacky
- at about 70-75°C for tack, 80°C to activate cross-linker
- reach the temperature over the entire surface
- pressing is absolutely essential
- hammering won’t work
- contact over the full surface in the first shot
- can’t re-press
- need a well fitting last, so not the best for repair
- won’t work on EVA
- have a conductive version for safety shoes as special order
- wouldn’t recommend for repair or modification
- can be used for bespoke shoe making, since have a last
