Stitch and Turn Seam

seam where the pieces are sewn face-to-face then turned away from the seam

Stitch-and-turn seams are often backed with reinforcement tape. When turned flat, they may also be stitched again along both sides of the original seam, through the material, any backer, and perhaps any lining.

Backseams are commonly sewn stitch-and-turn.
