a two-needle hand stitch used to sew seats
French heel stitch with an added twist.
Step-By-Step
Call the two threads A and B. Sew from the inside outward, putting each bristle into the hole in the insole from the inside and emerging from the upper on the outside.
Starting from the point where bristle A emerges from the upper:
- Twist the loop of thread B heading into the next hole so that thread B passes over itself before entering the hole.
- Run thread A under itself just before where it entered the hole in the insole, then run needle A through the new loop in thread B.
- Run thread A into the next open hole in the insole, skipping the hole ahead of it where thread B already runs.
Continue this process with thread B, then alternate back to A, and so on.
