Wildland Firefighting Boots

Also Known As: Wildland Boot

category of work boot designed for, and often certified for, use by wildland firefighters who fight fires in undeveloped terrain such as forest and brush

In the United States, wildland firefighting boots often strongly resemble logging boots, modified with lugged rubber heat-resistant soles and heels, burn-resistant thread, and certifications from organizations like the National Fire Protection Association and National Wildfire Coordinating Group. Many wildland firefighting boots are purchased each year with equipment allowances for certified wildland firefighters, as well under contract by state agencies.

European wildland firefighting boots often more resemble mountaineering or hiking boots with textile uppers and molded rubber outsoles.
