French Binding

Also Known As: Rolled Top, French Edge

upper edge finish where an additional strip of material is sewn face-to-face to the outside layer, then folded up, over, and behind the edge of the outsider layer, and partly covered by the lining material, which is sewn to the outside

French binding creates a roll of the additional strip, exposing only its face, around the edge of the outside layer and between the outside layer and lining.
