YouTube video by Lisa Sorrell showing and telling how to use a pedigraph
Notes
Using the Pedigraph
- Apex brand, clamshell style, blue plastic
- squeezes the ink onto the mat
- hard to squeeze the ink out
- rolls over the mat
- Customers do not need to take off their socks.
- stand customers next to a wall or something they can hold for balance, otherwise they will grab your head for balance
- [takes pedigraphs with customers standing]
- comes with paper, but can use US Legal paper trimmed down
- put other foot on the clamshell case
- uses her hands to guide the foot down
- stand evenly balanced
- don’t let customer roll foot around
- lift foot straight up, then step back
- doesn’t re-ink the rubber, just rolls
- rotates the clamshell around so other foot still standing on clamshell
- write customer name and date on every paper
Using the Information (for lastmaking)
- shows own last, measurement sheet, and pedigraph
- last on paper precisely covers the pedigraph
- size 4A last with build-ups
- next shows size 4A without build-ups
- ball measurement of stock last too small
- pedigraph tells where the missing half-inch of girth goes
- could be height or width
- add to the edges or wrap the top of the last for more height?
