driving lengths of wire, or wire nails, into a heel stack only partway, then clipping off the tops, creating spikes to hold the top lift without wire showing on the outside
Tips
- Clip the slugs fairly close to the surface of the bottom-most heel lift. Slugs of even minimal height will keep the top lift from sliding. Slugs too tall may prevent the top lift from seating and staying seated, or split any rubber part of it.
