Lasting
- laster tacks at the backpoint after considerable work lasting heel, shank, and toe, then trims excess around the seat and lasts the seat all the way around
Welting
- pierces first hole through upper, insole, and welt, then sets the welt to it with a nail, leaving it open for finishing
- pretty sparse inseam stitching
- for the final stitch and knot inside, pierces between the first and final stitch holes, just to bring the outside thread inside
- trims the upper flush with the gemming
Bottoming
- trims the insole in one pass with an OLFA-style snap-off knife
- foam wedge to fit a Cristy sole to the heel pitch
