Before Inseaming
Some makers shoot staples through the upper into the insole and remove lasting tacks before inseaming.
Staples, laying flat, do not catch thread while inseaming. As long as they are shot inside of the line where the inseam will run on the upper, the holes left by the staples are either trimmed away with the lasting allowance or sealed within the cavity.
